Lemony Snicket is the author of this 13 book series. It starts with a book called "The Bad Beginning" and ends with a book named "The End". Lemony Snicket loads satire in his books (aimed mostly at young adults or children). In all of the books he starts off by warning you that what you are about to read is not a pleasant thing, and you should probably put the book down and pick up another. He does that throughout the whole book, in my point of view it just makes the stories more comical. He also does an amazing job of explaining the large words he uses, without fail. It is an incredible series about three young children, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny. The story revolves around 'the fires' that happen, including the one that killed their parents, and about a villainous man named Count Olaf. He is trying to steal their vast fortune and is willing to follow them anywhere and do anything to get it. It is an amazing series and the first three were made into one astounding movie.
The movie is also phenomenal.
I read the first one, and I think a few somewhere in the middle, plus I saw the movie. Lemony Snicket always seemed to surprise me with where he ended the books each time.
